Currently serving as the Public Relations Officer on the Board of the Africa HR Confederation (AHRC), Shamim is the first Ugandan and one of the first women to represent HR at that level. Her work in this role centers around uniting Presidents of HR Associations across Africa to elevate the HR profession and embed diversity, equity, and inclusion across the continent—guided by her personal mantra, “Leave No One Behind.”
As a Global Recruitment Consultant, Shamim partners with organizations to identify top talent and bridge critical skill gaps. Her dual focus on employer needs and candidate potential allows her to shape impactful hiring strategies while empowering job seekers to confidently position themselves in competitive markets.

Shamim’s passion for capacity building is evident from her tenure on the Governing Council of the Human Resource Managers' Association of Uganda (HRMAU), where she championed policy and institutional reforms—such as the HR Bill—and drove membership growth and professionalization across the HR space.
An award-winning strategist, Shamim brings expertise in HR programme management, HR analytics, business partnering, change management, and operational transformation. Her work is centered on fostering behavioural change and instilling a performance-driven culture.
Beyond the boardroom, Shamim is a committed mentor and community builder. She co-founded and actively supports programs like the Girls for Girls Initiative and the Purpose-Led Mentorship Programme—driving leadership development, empowering young women, and creating ripple effects of impact for generations to come.
